Upper Crust is a worldwide chain of baguette restaurants concentrated along commuter routes, their outlets are commonplace in stations and terminals. Branches are also present in some Universities in the UK, including City University, London. There are also branches at the central railway station in Oslo, Norway and one at Oslo Airport Gardermoen. The company has started to expand into shopping centres, with a new store at Bridgend Designer Outlet, South Wales.

History
The first Upper Crust opened in 1986, in London Waterloo Station. The chain is now owned by SSP (Select Service Partner).
Products
Upper Crust specialises in baguettes, some of the main fillings include: Breakfast baguettes, Ham and Cheddar, Ham and Mozzarella, Cheddar and Bacon, Tuna Mayo, BLT, Chicken Salad, Cheese and Tomato and Egg and Tomato
A recent introduction to the product line are 'Pizza Baguettes' which currently come in 3 varieties: Cheese and Tomato, Ham and Pineapple and Chicken and Bacon. Sandwiches are also available.
Cakes and pastries are available throughout the day, and include various muffins, danishes, scones, brownies and flapjacks.
The chain offer a number of hot and cold drinks, including coffees (Americano, Latte, Cappuccino, Mocha, Espresso), teas (earl grey, lemon, green, peppermint, fruit infusion), hot chocolate, carbonated drinks (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Red Bull), still and sparkling waters, Innocent smothies, orange and apple juices and Feel Good juices. Some branches also make their own smoothies instore.
Marketing
The key part to Upper Crust's marketing is freshness and quality. Baguettes are displayed for a maximum of 3 hours, and each baguette wears a 'collar' with its time of creation stamped to it to ensure this is adhered to. Coffee is tested 3 times a day to ensure the correct grind and pour time is set for the perfect blend.
